    The Honourable Paddy Torsney presents her 25th Annual International Women's Day Breakfast with Ava Hill.

    Ava is a Mohawk, Wolf Clan and has extensive experience working with Indigenous organizations nationally and internationally.  She is Co-Chair of the Working Group on a Declaration on Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples Through Sports.

    What about breakfast?

    Usually this breakfast costs about $15 per person.

    Consider going out and supporting a local store buying coffee or breakfast. You might also consider donating the $15 to Food4Kids.  Food4Kids in Halton provides packages of healthy food for children aged 4-14 years with limited or no access to food each weekend.  The food packages are delivered to schools every Friday by volunteers.  There are more than 800 children in Halton struggling through each weekend without food.

    The Uncrafty Crafter group is looking for knitters to help make soft, washable, cotton prosthetics as an alternative to heavy, expensive latex models. We are knitting these Knitted Knockers for our March/April project.  See the attached letter in the Craft Forum for more details on this very worthwhile project of Women Helping women.     CFUW 16 Days of Activism Against Gender based Violence Toolkit

    CFUW has prepared a 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Toolkit with tips on how to get involved in the campaign. From November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to December 10th, International Human Rights Day, let’s help put an end to violence against women and girls. The toolkit includes an article on the 30th Anniversary of the École Polytechnique massacre. It discusses key themes on the topic of gender-based violence.
