Halton Children’s Aid Society has recently acquired a new home (safe haven) to house homeless youth through Government funding combined with funds from the Oakville Community Foundation. The home will be operated by Bridging the Gap (the program that assists and supports youth who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in Halton by providing life necessities, mental health resources, establishing education and employment plans). The new Bridge House is currently undergoing some renovations and getting freshly painted.
The Bridging the Gap staff have provided a list of items they require to get the home ready for youth to move in (please see below). Please forward the list and let us know if you or your contacts have any of these items to donate. We will track donations (similar to a wedding registry), so please be sure to contact us (see below).
