Scholarship Thank You to CFUW
Anonymous: What a surprise last night at our General Meeting, when a CFUW scholarship recipient appeared at the door, wanting to say thank you to us all. It was such a coincidence since we were exploring the topic of our scholarships that night! She received the ‘Leadership Award’ from Gary Allan High School. Daniela Vasconcellos is a mature student, an immigrant to Canada and a mother of 5 children. She spoke to us about her journey to this point. She has worked hard in all areas of her life and was very appreciative of our help. It was very inspiring to hear her story.
“As the recipient of the “Leadership Award” that was offered by your association in June 2012, I would like to thank you for your generous contribution. I am pleased to inform that I have been accepted to the Nursing Program at MoMac (Mohawk/MacMaster) and will be starting in January 2013. Your contribution will be well used in helping fund my edcuation. I would also like to thank you for your recognition of my efforts and your presence during the graduation ceremony.”
