Tropics Womens Fitness Club

When Burlington’s Tropics Women’s Fitness Club was approached to promote our Clara Hughes fundraising event, owner Dani Wray stepped up – not only agreeing to promote the event to her 1400+ members, but jumping in with a generous $1000 event sponsorship!

Dani’s support didn’t stop there.  After learning about CFUW and our commitment to providing scholarships to a girl from each of the Burlington high schools, Dani recognized that the young women training at her club will be – or will know – one of our scholarships.

To extend her support, Tropics will donate $35 to our Scholarship Foundation for every new or renewing student membership received this year (currently around 130 student members). That’s potential funding of over $4,500 in a single year!
We look forward to sharing more about this local, women-owned community partner in the months ahead.  Stay tuned!

A Different Drummer Books

For many years, Ian Elliott, owner of A Different Drummer Books has supported our Scholarship foundation by arranging a Canadian author event and giving us the funds from the ticket sales. In addition to this year’s event with Clara Hughes, we have been lucky to host such wonderful authors as Elizabeth Hay and Sally Armstrong.  We appreciate this ongoing partnership with A Different Drummer!!
