CFUW ART APPRECIATION
‘A MORNING AT THE BURLINGTON ART CENTRE’
THURSDAY, JUNE 21 9:15 AM
(in Photographer’s Studio)
Join us for a special ‘inside’ look of the BAC’s Permanent
Collection of Contemporary Canadian Ceramics; the largest such collection in the world
– Introduction to the collection: slide presentation and discussion in the Photographer’s Studio at end of hall.
–Join curator Jonathan Smith in the AIC Gallery as he installs “Umbrella Series” by Ann Mortimer; a colourful and whimsical exhibition of ceramic art.
–Tour the winding halls of BAC and see selected works from the permanent collection with our own CFUW/Docent guides
–See Colleen O’Reilly’s “Garden Spirits” in the Courtyard. A new summer installation of ceramic art.
– Return to Photographers Studio for discussion and planning session of program for CFUW art appreciation for fall 2012
–Enjoy lunch together in the small cafe at BAC – Sandwiches, soup and salads, tea, muffins and cookies
–As a thank you to BAC…..Please drop a small $3 donation (or more) in the BAC donation box in the lobby.
