Canadian Federation of University Women

An opportunity for closet writers, would-be authors, amateur scribblers and story lovers to meet monthly and share stories we have written, drawn from life experiences. These might center on family, travel, loss, hope, friendship, pets, remembered things/activities, wonder, discovery, to name just a few. The convenor will set the theme and invite group members to write a story of about two pages in preparation for reading it to each other at the following meeting. There will be no critiquing or judging of writing quality…..just enjoying the story we have been privileged to hear.

The story might invite discussion so as to enable time for each member’s participation. The group size should be limited to 10.

“Stories are light, and light is precious in a world so dark. So tell me a story. Make some light.”

From A Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo
