<title>Sherri Keller changed the description of the group Novel Women’s Book Discussion Group from "Make friends both on and off the page! We spend about half an hour socializing over coffee/tea and dessert and the rest of the time discussing the book. Each member chooses the book she would like to present. Each of us has our own method of presenting: most will talk a little about the author's background, give us some idea of what the critics thought of the book, and go on to discuss main literary features of the book, the historical background or the issues that arise from the book; but the emphasis is always on getting everyone involved in the discussions and that is the most important role of the facilitator. We try to review books that are in paperback, more current / readily available in local libraries as an e-book or in hard copy - but that's not always the case, and no genre is excluded. We currently have an 8 member limit for this group so anyone interested in getting on our waiting list is welcome to contact Jan at janhillyer@hotmail.com

The first option generally takes place on the 3rd Sunday of each month but may vary depending upon the activity chosen for that month.  Members may choose to take part in enjoyable dinners at local restaurants throughout Burlington, go to the movies, enjoy a musical performance, go for walks or hikes, attend special events, visit local museums or art galleries, cycle on local bike paths, visit Kensington or St Lawrence Markets in Toronto...it's all up to the members!
A second option to connect weekends will be an enjoyable evening of "Dice, Cards &#38; Giggles" on the first Friday of every month.  We'll share an evening of laughter, friendly games, delicious treats and great company.  A great way to get your weekend started and no experience needed!

The discussions are lively, the friendship is warm, and we all come away with insights we may have missed in our first reading of the story.
