The first option generally takes place on the 3rd Sunday of each month but may vary depending upon the activity chosen for that month.  Members may choose to take part in enjoyable dinners at local restaurants throughout Burlington, go to the movies, enjoy a musical performance, go for walks or hikes, attend special events, visit local museums or art galleries, cycle on local bike paths, visit Kensington or St Lawrence Markets in Toronto…it’s all up to the members!
A second option to connect weekends will be an enjoyable evening of “Dice, Cards & Giggles” on the first Friday of every month.  We’ll share an evening of laughter, friendly games, delicious treats and great company.  A great way to get your weekend started and no experience needed!

Sherri Keller changed the description of the group Lakeside Walk from “The group meets weekly on a weekday morning (weather permitting) at a prearranged location and walks for about 1 hr and 30 min along the lakeshore.  Anybody who enjoys walking with or without a pole is welcome.  There is always something new to see, and you will enjoy the company of friends.

Sherri Keller changed the description of the group Book Exchange from “The Book Exchange Group gives members the opportunity to read recently published books that are not yet readily available in libraries or as paperbacks.

At a meeting at the end of September, interested members begin to select the books. Other members can make suggestions. We are looking for good reads that most members will find interesting.

Each member contributes around $30, depending on the cost of the books. She reads one of the 8 to 10 books, every month, depending on the number of members. She keeps the last book she receives.

Each member has her first book by November 1.

New members are always welcome!

Celia Stone changed the description of the group Evening Book Club from “This wonderful group of book lovers meets on the second Tuesday of each month between September and June. In June, the group chooses 9 books to be read and then, each month a member presents one of the books. While we lean towards fiction, we have read everything from memoirs to non-fiction and always come away learning something new. The discussions are lively, the friendship is warm, and we all come away with insights we may have missed in our first reading of the story.
