DESCRIPTION:Celebrating International Women’s Day \nThe Honourable Paddy Torsney \npresents her \n26th Annual International Women’s Day Breakfast \nVirtually on Zoom \nMonday March 4 2022 – 7:30 – 9:00 am \nwith \nPAT KELLY \nPat is a former Burlington resident who has made a difference in our community and across Canada.  A survivor of 2 cancer diagnoses\, she started Canada’s first breast cancer group and co-wrote a series of 6 books about breast cancer.  When living in the US\, she worked on the 2 campaigns to elect Barack Obama. The thread through her life continues – changing behaviours and changing the game – for the better.  \nPat is on the Owen Sound Glassworks Cooperative Housing board\, building an affordable\, Indigenous-informed eco-community for all ages\, on 46 acres near the shore of Georgian Bay.  \nRegister Here to attend the 2022 International Women’s Day breakfast\, free. \nWhat about breakfast? \nUsually\, this breakfast costs about $15 per person. Consider donating the $15 to Food4Kids.  Food4Kids in Halton provides packages of healthy food for children aged 4-14 years with limited or no access to food each weekend.  The food packages are delivered to schools every Friday by volunteers.    You can make a difference and donate at: \nwww.food4kidshalton.ca/make-a-donation and make a difference.Pursuit:365 will launch on March 8 and will feature 365 inspiring women in Canada. We are fortunate to have one of the featured women talk to our Burlington chapter. \nKaren Kristjanson\, M.Sc\, M.A.\, PCC is a life coach and author of Co- Parenting from the Inside Out: Voices of Moms and Dads. She will talk about how she came to be part of this new book: Pursuit 365. \nKaren’s own co-parenting of her sons from the ages of 5 and 8 (they are now grown)was the driving force which led her to create a book of true stories to support parents post-divorce who want to keep both parents involved-now a very common situation. Karen will tell her own and two of the other parents’ stories from her book\, and the lessons she drew\, as a social scientist\, from the 42 parents she interviewed. Karen will also share her experience of writing and finding a traditional publisher for her book.
