Who is CFUW Burlington?
Founded in 1957 as a voluntary, non-partisan, non-profit association, CFUW Burlington parted from CFUW Hamilton to become its own chapter responding to the growth and independence of Burlington. Our group’s mission is built on three pillars: Advocacy, Friendship, and Education.
- As educators, healthcare workers, business women, and entrepreneurs both working and retired, we come together to speak with one voice on issues of the day, particularly those involving women and girls.
- We support each other through friendship with a variety of interest groups.
- We embrace continued learning through our speaker series.
- We know that the power of women comes through education and to that end we grant scholarships to a person from each of the 10 Burlington secondary schools. In addition, our membership fees go toward a number of scholarships nationally.
- As one of 90 chapters of CFUW National we collaboratively develop policy through our annual resolutions.
- Our Club nationally, grants over $1 million a year in scholarships and awards, and holds special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. In addition, CFUW is the largest of 79 affiliate members of Graduate Women International (GWI), an organization which gives voice to women and girls internationally through the promotion of peace, social justice and education.

If you are looking to join a caring, inclusive women’s group, where friendship and collaboration are high in your expectations, look no further.
