
Dr. Hui is an award winning Pediatric Infectious Diseases physician and former Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Allergy and Immunology at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. He also holds the position of Full Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada.
An active clinician and educator, Dr. Hui is deeply involved in the synthesis, translation, and exchange of knowledge on migrant health issues affecting children and youth. He played a pivotal role in guiding the UN Migration Organization through the Ebola pandemic and led Eastern Ontario’s response to the COVID-19pandemic. Dr. Hui co-edited the “Kids New to Canada” online book and serves as the Chair of the CanadianPaediatric Society’s Caring for Kids New to Canada Taskforce.
Dr. Hui has provided consultation to national societies, governments, and intergovernmental organizations on policies and issues related to migrant child health. He is a founding member and Chair of the Steering Committee of the Migration Health and Development Research Initiative (MHADRI), an international network of over 300 members dedicated to migration health research.
